MORE MONEY DOESN'T SOLVE MONEY PROBLEMS! Part 3

continued...

We strolled back to our rented house in Section 2. My mind was still thinking on how to control the NEEDS and WANTS.

I remembered the friend who bought the house with a downpayment of RM20,000.00. He wear a watch like everybody else, where attire like everybody else and where shoes like everybody else. All in all, he's like us.

The only difference was, the type, the brandand the price of those things. For example, he wears a RM30.00 watch. Still it looks great on him. He said to one of my friends,"The most impotant thing for me is for the watch to show me time. So if that is the case, a RM30.00 watch will do. In fact, I've been wearing this watch for 3 years now. Another thing is that, if I left and lost it somewhere a.k.a. in the toilet, wudhuk area or in any R&R, I would not have a heart attack. Imagine if I wore a RM300.00 watch... I'll not sleep well at night."

Very true. So the next answer in controlling the NEEDS and WANTS is THINK SIMPLE PLAY SIMPLE. Another example of this kind of thinking is the buying of handphones. Nowadays there are handphones that could show Television broadcast, have variety of functions etc. When talking about technology, the price is not cheap. So again, go to the basics, 'What is the function of a telephone?' The answer would be, to call people, to text (sms) people. If there is the camera function, better buy a real camera with higher capabilities.

Next, if it is true some people say that people have unlimited WANTS, and some people say that people cannot control it, well I have another idea. Actually this idea has been used by many people. It is just some people never realised or believed on this method.

The way is to put away some money to fulfill unlimited WANTS. For example, I taught my wife that if she wanted anything from head scarves to handbags, put aside a little money every month plus surplus of every month in the bank until it reaches the goal. With that, she could buy anything she WANTS and I will be a happy man. Lol!

Whatever it is, the way is called BUDGETING. Every month, put aside some money in an envelope or bank or anywhere and DON'T DARE OPEN AND SPEND IT until the time is right. My wife allocate RM100 in her CIMB for SHOPPING SPREE. Every month's surolus is put there also. So when it reaches RM500.00 or more (the fifth month), she will spend it all. Sometimes from the shopping, she managed to have surplus, so it goes back into her CIMB. So, it means that, she gets to go shopping twice a year! Imagine, spending RM500.00+- for things that she already has!

I think those are the answers to support Answer 1# CONTROL OVER NEEDS AND WANTS.

MORE MONEY DOESN'T SOLVE MONEY PROBLEMS! Part 2

continued.....

We reached the playground at 8.23 a.m. and I found a bench and sat on it. The weather was still cool that morning.

I was thinking really hard of what solve money problems? I tried to search the answer or answers through my long-term memory (as if I am a computer or robot lol).

Then I nodded my self a few times while my wife watching. She asked me what was I thinking. I only smiled. So, what solve money problems?

ANSWER #1 : CONTROL OVER NEEDS AND WANTS
Well, answer number 1 is to control the NEEDS and WANTS part first. Don't say that we must control the WANTS part only. Basic NEEDS like i mentioned in part 1 are food, clothes and shelter. Then in my previous post in 2009, I mentioned on sophisticated NEEDS. It means, from basic or simple food, we WANT sophisticated food. From normal clothes, we WANT sophisticated or branded or call what ever you want clothes. And for shelter or house, we WANT a sophisticated or big or stylish house.

So, we must control both, the NEEDS and the WANTS first. How is that possible? How to do it? Firstly, one of the ways is to learn, gain knowledge and pracitise on "instant gratification" and "delayed gratification". The terms used here are from the famous book by Robert T.Kiyosaki, Rich Dad Poor Dad.

Instant gratification vs. Delayed gratification

Let me tell you a story of two friends named Azam and Badrul, to show you the meanings and differentiation of the two terms.

One day, there were two best friends who practically learn in the same school, learn in the same university, taking the same course and practically work at the same company. Both of them have the same salary RM2500.00.

On their first salary, they wanted to celebrate and went to town by bus. After celebrating at a famous fast food outlet, they went for window shopping. Suddenly they came accross a motorbike outlet and Badrul wants to buy a motorbike. It's good to have a motorbike because now he has a job and it's easy for him to go anywhere, anytime.

He asked the price to the salesman for a motorbike of his choice. The salesman said the price was RM7,500. His face changed because he doesn't have that amount of money on him. He asked Azam and Azam replied that he doesn't have that amount of cash either.

Then, the salesman said that, Badrul could put a downpayment of RM1000.00 and then pay for the motorbike monthly. So, he was happy because he has that amount of money and to pay RM297.00 per month is no problem for him. The transaction was made and he rode off his new motorbike leaving Azam alone, since they live in different places and have only one helmet. So Azam went back home alone by bus.

7 months passed by and Azam still went to work by bus and Badrul went to work by his motorbike. But one day, Azam went to the same motorbike outlet and asked to buy a motorbike. This time the salesman said that there is a brand new motorbike model and the price is RM8000.00. Azam asked if he would buy for cash, could he bargain for less? The saleman said the price could be RM7500.00 if bought for cash. Azam paid the salesman and he was happy to have a brand new motorbike.

Analysis
Now, let's see how these two best friends are doing. They go to work as usual using their motorbikes.

From a simple analysis, firstly, Azam's motorbike is brand new and Badrul's motorbike is quite old. Secondly, Badrul's motorbike will have some minor damages etc. and thirdly the 8th month onwards, Badrul has to pay RM297.00 continually every single month for the motorbike plus maintenance and petrol until the 24th month but Azam doesn't have to pay a single penny to the motorbike company but can save that money for petrol and maintenance. So who gets the biggest gratification? The answer is obvious. Azam.

So, can you guess who practises instant gratification and who prcatises delayed gratification? It's obvious right? Azam practises delayed gratification while Badrul practises instant gratification. Which one is better? Instant or delayed gratification? Hope you choose the correct answer.

I nodded a couple of times when I thought about it. The atmosphere is getting hotter now because it's nearly 8.45 a.m. I continued thinking... This one of the ways to control the NEEDS and WANTS. But this is not the end for answer 1 and even give other answers. I'll continue in part 3 and onwards.

MORE MONEY DOESN'T SOLVE MONEY PROBLEMS! Part 1

Assalamualaikum and good morning.

It's a wonderful morning today, Sunday, where many people are still sleeping after a weeks' job. For those who are schooling, this is the last day of holiday before going back to school, teachers included. For those schooling in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, I bid all off you good luck in teaching and learning.

We took this opportunity where most people are still sleeping, taking our son 'walking'. Well, we are walking and he is strolling. Lol.

MONEY IS THE ROOT OF WANTING THINGS
When we were taking our walk, even though it's 8.07 a.m. already (we should go walking at least at 7 a.m..... what the heck... we're back now), I kept thinking what I read on the net and my books, that money, which is very important, makes people have heart attacks, fights, headaches and so on.

People often think that more money will solve their money problems. Plus, what is happening in the country : subsidies will be stopped i.e. sugar, then most probably petrol and other things that we use, will make the rakyats uneasy. This feeling of uneasyness affect all levels of rakyats, whether in urban areas or rural areas especially.

Other things will be high i.e. toll, electric tariff and others will make people like me and others as well feel worried. Why is that?

This is because, all of those things need money. We pay them in RM. Not with sand, leaves or grass. It's RM. Everyting is expensive nowadays. We were shocked to be learning that we bought 2 white bawals with the price of RM8.80 at a Pasar Pagi. It's better if we bought chicken. (Nice move eh smart consumer... yeah right!).

When we passed a few houses to the playground, I came to notice that, if I were to have an increase in my salary, let's say, RM250 per year, will it solve my problems? (I passed a few houses with beautiful landscape on their garden and few houses that doesn't have anything at all except for weeds.) When I scrutinize the matter, I think NO is the definite answer.

NEEDS AND WANTS
WHY IS THAT SO? Well the basic is that human beings have to fulfill their NEEDS and WANTS. The basic needs of humans are food, clothes and shelter. And the wants of humans are far too many. And these needs and wants must be bought by MONEY. Not sand, leaves or grass.

And these wants couldn't be controlled by human (actually we could), thus resulting the NEM SYNDROME. Or, 'not-enough money' syndrome. NEM Syndrome is everywhere, in any country, in any household and in anybody.

Go to shopping complexes and we could see many things that we want even though our needs have been fulfilled. We have grub in our belly, we have clothes on our shoulders and we have a small house for shelter. We want a new watch, a new handphone, a new pair of shoes, a new furniture, a new car, you name it, if possible, we want to take the whole shopping complex home with us! Lol!

SO MORE MONEY DOESN'T SOLVE MONEY PROBLEMS
So it's an undeniable fact that more money doesn't solve money problems. If I have an increase in my salary, I will surely go to the next sale bargain and buy things I want. I'll buy a few toys for my son and myself and many toys for my beloved wife lol.

So what solve money problems? In part two... I'll continue...

What is it like when you are rich?

Greetings to another Chinese New Year, Year of the Tiger.... Roaaarrr!!!

Hope that this new year will bring you prosperity and happiness. Hope you will be successful and get the richness that probably you are finding.

Well what is it like when you are rich? How will you live your life? The house that you will buy? How big will your car be etc etc etc and the list goes on.

Well if you go to any multi-level-marketing meetings or plan presentation, they will surely not leave that out. Often will they show you the dream car, a BMW 7 series or a Ferrari or any other cars imaginable.

Not forgetting a dream house. A bungalow, an apartment, a suite or any luxurious house that is so mind blogging. And why is that? The answer is that if you follow the plan, if you join in, if you work hard enough and follow the leader, well might probably you will fulfill all those dreams.

Those cars, houses and other luxurious things are things that the rich have, aren't they? Well if you guessed it like that, then you guessed it right. Have you ever dreamed of waking up from a very good dream and realize that you wake up from a bed that is so comfortable on a bed that is made from expensive imported carved red wood.

You sit up straight and you see that you are in a very big room. It's cool coz there's an aircond. Wow! That fantastic fantasy. You go to the bathroom and take a hot shower. It's just like a hotel. Then you go downstairs and the butler greets you and says that breakfast is ready. While you dine at the luxurious dining table with your beautiful wife, you watch your favourite morning show on your 34 inch LCD television!

Then you go out with your pretty wife sightseeing with your cadillac or ferrari. Your choice... The gate of your huge home opens by itself.

What do you think? You got the picture right?

Are those things you are thinking about when you are rich? That is the lifestyle u want?

Happy "Fucking" New Year

Assalamualaikum and good evening

Happy new year to all even though it's already February. You missed me don't you? Har! Har!. I apologize to everyone coz I didn't come and update my blog. It was in the midyear so I had to do other fucking important things to fucking other people and in a cuik fucking time.

So why the 'fucking' words? I apologize of being rude or something. It's just that I want to share something with you today.

In 1994, when I was still schooling, we went to this education seminar. It's a state program so we met many students from different school. Well one night my friends and I met with these students who for me are elite students. Well they are from a prestigious school.

The thing is why does this one student like to use these 'f' words. I don't like that fucking teacher. Why should I come to this fucking seminar. I wnat to fucking go home. etc and at the back of every sentence he will say the 'f', 's', and other erotic words.

Well... in terms of getting rich quick, or slow I'm not sure he could succeed. Whatever comes out from his mouth are 'f' words. But I do hope he changes and be somebody now haha.

Everything that comes out of our mouth are actually prayers, or doa. So speak about nice things. After the subuh, zohor, asar, maghrib and isyak prayers, we speak and pray to God and ask for forgiveness and many other things. We could also ask for richness of the soul and material. So just imagine if our mouth was so automated with the 'f' words, 's' words or any other negative words, most porbably, who knows, it will slip out in our prayers... now let's see who's been fucked? Ha Ha Ha.

So in conclusion, speak good things coz it will make us automatically pray for nice things...

p/s - getting rick quick or slow must insert also prayer to God... He knows best...

Da-da..

Papa! I want a bicycle like them!

Assalamualaikum and good morning...

I did some work just now and now I think I want to relax. So I'm free relaxing so I said to myself, what if I continue writing my post.

Well in the previous post, I wrote about It's Just A Matter of Lifestyle. So now, I will try to reason out, why people likes to buy things which are more than the basic needs. As we know, the basic needs are food, clothes and shelter.

It's irrefutable that there two things in this world which are 'needs' and 'wants'. 'Needs' could be fulfilled easily but 'wants' couldn't be fulfilled easily. Usually wants are a lot.

So that's the basic thing we have to understand. Some people just can't control the 'want' proportion. If they can control it then InsyaAllah they will succeed in the fight.

The second thing, I think, why people are like that is the feeling of competitiveness in themselves. For example, "Oh Abang, our neighbour bought a nice new furniture, why don't we buy new furniture also." After nice new furniture, nice 34 inch TV, then compete in buying a karaoke set etc. etc. etc. and the list goes on.

I've heard from an Ustaz in a Tazkirah said that, when we are living on this world, don't look at somebody who is richer than us. Because we can never override or compete with people. We should look at somebody who is poorer than us. We should be thankful to God.

But in terms of Religion and the faith of Islam, look at somebody who is better than us, try to compete or be more pious than the person, that is better. Don't look to the people who is not good in Religion, because we will not be better worshippers.

So folks, control our wants and don't look at richer people and try to compete with them. We will be at the losing end. Be thankful to God always.

See you guys next time.

It's Just A Matter of Lifestyle

Assalamualaikum and good morning to all...

I'm writing this post from my desk at my office. I have to do at 9.30 a.m. so I have about 10 mins to go hehe.

Well, I was thinking about my life and about life itself. I came up with a few questions. Why was it so important for people going to work? Some people go to work at offices from 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. Some of them plough the fields and grow crops and sell them to the market or the wholesaler. Some of them have their own restaurant to look after and operate. If they don't go to work, what will happen? Well it's so, so obvious if they don't go to work, they will not get salary, they will not get any money to buy things.

The second question that came into my head was, what are those 'things' that they will spend on that was so important, that they have to wake up in the morning and go to work? Well if I guessed it right, it must be the most basic things in life... which are food, clothes and shelter. Do you agree on this?

"I bring money to the home to buy food on the table and into your mouths. To put clothes on your bodies and to put shelter on your heads." Is that phrase familiar to you? Hehe.

If that being the case, the case is resolved then. Why? Because it answers my questions of why people go to work... and why people need money.

Is that all?

The answer is HELL NO!!!

Why???

This is because, I just don't get it when some people or majority of the people always say that they don't have enough money whether in the middle of the month or end of the month. Some of my friends make jokes of it. They always say like 'hey don't ask money okay... please understand it's the middle of month right...' and they will grin and laugh.

I read lots of articles on financial management, cashflow, bla bla bla and books on them also. Well I got a few answers. And the answers satisfies me. The most pleasurable answer to me is...

"IT'S JUST A MATTER OF LIFESTYLE"

Lifestyle will overthrow the mind from basic necessities in life to other sophistaced things in life. For example, if they already have food or basic food, they will have other sophisticated food. And those things will not be cheap. I remembered my brother, who doesn't eat much because he wants to maintain his weight (before this he was 120kgs but took a weight loss product and reduced to 75kgs), bought expensive food. Our mother always nag about this to him. This is what I call sophisticated food.

Other people probably, with the extra money (so they thought) go restaurants or fast food outlets to dine there. If you go to a burger outlet and order a burger, the cost is RM5.95 but if you buy a burger at a burger stall near your neighbourhood, the cost is just RM2.00. See? Basic burger and sophisticated burger. Haha.

It's the same as clothes and houses. They already have basic clothes, now they want stylish, up to date and branded clothes. From a normal house, they rennovate and even decorate the house. All these things cost a lot of money. Sometimes not hundreds but thousands.

The things I demonstrated above are the basic things in life that have been changed or upgraded into sophisticity. What about other things beyond food, clothes and house? ICT products, cars, furniture and thousands and thousands of products out there will surely capture the human eye, brain and heart.

I asked this question to myself? Why do people indulge in these things? Well... probably I'll answer it in the next post...

Until then... take care.
